Congratulations! I know how you could have acheived that. Seemingly you have all five core values of AKPsi: Brotherhood, Knowledge, Integrity, Service, and Unity. You have kept these internally in your life, and your aspects finally turned out to be what you have wished for. You set up the empitome of principled business leader that I am expecting to be throughout this pledge class. I will keep growing mature enough to carry out that I promised to myself. A brother of mine, who has confidence on herself through the steps I will follow, makes me gratful for both inspring and motivating message.

Your achievements and triumphs are sure to make anybody more motivated. The fact that your brothers are thanked for the hurdles you jumped motivates me to become a brother to be thanked. Evidently you have gone way beyond more than you’ve expected and exceed in so many things such as getting your dream job and building up that confidence of yours. I am truly blessed, and I hope I get a lot out of Alpha Kappa Psi just as you have. I know where I’m headed and I’m going towards the right direction.

This letter answers many questions that not only do I have but also my other pledge brothers. The reason I am pledging for Alpha Kappa Psi originally was to get involved and to meet new people. After being presented with the pledge process I asked myself it this worth it and how is it going to benefit me in the long run? This letter does a great job answering my questions. It is also very inspiring. I hope that I can too reach my ultimate goal.

Like everyone else here, I appreciate you taking the time to thank all of the active members and people that have helped you along the way in Alpha Kappa Psi. It truly shows your commitment and gratitude.

Personally, I came to San Diego State in hopes of joining a fraternity, but found that my experiences with the social fraternities were much less than I expected. I was actually upset that I couldn’t see myself in one of them, because that brotherhood was what I was looking for. However, I wanted it to be genuine, not forced.

You were the first member of Alpha Kappa Psi that I met. When I approached the tent one Tuesday afternoon to hear more about it, you were absolutely ecstatic. You were so enthused about all that Alpha Kappa Psi had to offer that you couldn’t even get it all out in the short time I had before class. However, your body language told me that you were not only very proud of the fraternity, but that you honestly believed in everything it is based on.

I personally would like you to thank YOU for showing me I had found what I was looking for. It was then I realized I had found that group of people who think before they spoke, had something intelligent and encouraging to contribute to the group, while providing that friendly vibe that lets you know THESE people were going to be there for you, no matter what. I’m sure in my journey through life Alpha Kappa Psi will provide me all sorts of opportunities and as I look back and ‘connect the dots’ as Mr. Golangco put it, I will see that many of my achievements stemmed from my decision to take on the brotherhood, unity, service and integrity that is Alpha Kappa Psi.

I look forward to being able to say that many of my professional achievements and personal growth were thanks to the fraternity and I can not wait to share my learning with future pledges, if and when I cross over. It’s an honor to be a part of pledge process, because you know that all the hard work, all the criticism and all the tasks put on you are preparation for the “real world”, where those things will be coming from total strangers, colleagues and superiors. I would much learn from my brothers first so that any hardship I encounter in my career will have already been experienced and overcome in my past, with the help of my brothers.
